a silly drunken poem for a very sexy snake
the sand was bleached white,ahead,
the ocean an endearing chill
and i pulled you in after me, letting
it hit our feet, than our knees
until you had followed me in
to our waists
i watched you
like a proud mama
watching her baby swim on its own
as you grinned at me
the riptide tugged at our legs
a little harder than you expected
you tightened your grip on my arm,
digging your fingers in
as panic zipped across your face
i flinched and retaliated in pain
and a second later we were laughing
and swimming again
5 days later
you are an ocean away
and the bruise you gave me
in that one second where you believed i would save you
is still here
and i would still save you
i love you.
